What is it? |

Once I start the process, by plugging it in, the Slider begins to slide across the floor, beeping. When boxman hears the Slider's beep, it begins and the Slider stops. The Boxman now begins to call its call and when the Slider hears it, the Slider begins to slide and the Boxman now stops. This continues... Ideally there will be five or more little guys all with their own unique calls and each one turning on, or off another. I could also see this built on a smaller scale in which there were many inside of a sound-proof plexi box and the viewer could listen in on what ineraction was going on inside. Once the process is started there really is a wonderfull sense of losing control I have always been interested in giving up control to machines and letting the machines come up with something seemingly random or perhaps arguably aesthetically pleasing which I did not directly create. The guys moving around is not just a dance of randomness but also a "song" of random cries, turning on and off. |
