Michael made the following announcements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Office hours:<\/strong> While there aren&#8217;t official office hours, you should\u00a0feel free to reach out to Michael &amp; arrange a time during the day. Michael\u2019s office is really close by.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Guest lecture:<\/strong> Next week, we&#8217;ll have a guest lecture from a friend of Michael&#8217;s who works at IDEO and has a background in\u00a0improv.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Final assignment:<\/strong> We&#8217;re now beginning the final assignment! The\u00a0goal is to come up with an idea for a public space, and find something to do in that space that you can test\u00a0in rapid iterative design fashion. Groups are:\n<ul>\n<li>Leroy, Melody, Aastha, Michie<\/li>\n<li>Nga, Dami, Sneha, Hana<\/li>\n<li>Luke, Effy, Amy, Sunnie<\/li>\n<li>Sarah, Mike, Matt, Trent<\/li>\n<li>Sam C, Sam W, Jeff, Mini<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tech research projects: <\/strong>If you haven&#8217;t sent Michael your topic already, please do\u00a0ASAP. Technology is defined by a system that involves input &gt; processing &gt; output.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Assignments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Dami, Effy\u00a0and Sam C.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will\u00a0present their tech research projects next class.<\/p>\n<p>For our final assignment kickoff, please complete the following in our new groups of 4 (listed above):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Choose and document\u00a0a third place.<\/strong>\u00a0Go back to original third place or find a new one (if you are choosing a new one please\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mschneider@esidesign.com\">email\u00a0Michael<\/a>\u00a0by Wednesday to confirm). Document actions or review your previous documentation to find actions. Highlight moments of intervention opportunity, dream up some unexpected nuggets of delight (what if I saw\u2026, what if I heard, what if I thought I was, what if I could\u2026)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan and prepare for your first in situ prototype.<\/strong> In order to do that you must first develop\u00a0goals and parameters, do preliminary market research, define users, and focus on one single element of a goal to rapid prototype around.
