Second journal entry;

Well we have now delved into the PIC which seems simple enough and interesting. I enjoy learning the basic ones and zeros of shit registers and setting addresses, I hope that it will start to feel simple enough to me. I created a simple flashing light program which is nice to see that it works and it only costs one ninth the price of the bx. It also seems to be a little more stable.

I began reading the clock book "The Clock of the Long Now" which suggests some pretty interesting ways of thinking about time which is important. We have to at least realize how our concepts of time have changes enormously in the recent past, especially being students time feels even more temporal. In the past people who mostly lived agrarian lives would go through basically the same things every day with almost no concept of the outside world and think mostly of time as the changing seasons. One example is that in the middle ages the "in" fashion of the time, soemthing most closely resembling a canvas sack, remained unchanged for about 500 years.

I have to come up with a stupid pic trick and I would love to do something using midi. It is a bit difficult juggling school work and work work.
